At W18, we own and farm 15 hectares of vines benefiting from the extraordinary Moravian terroir. This is the result of our team’s hard work and the source of our passion-driven wine.
IT ALL STARTED WITH FINDING THE RIGHT SPOT…
In Spring 2018, we discovered the perfect place to grow Czech native grapes and international varieties. We planted two vineyards in the area known as Vinohrádky, and they thrived beautifully. We then expanded the estate to our current 15 hectares of premium vineyards. Preserving the land is one of our priorities, so we use the gentlest and most sophisticated agrotechnical methods to tend the land with the most profound respect to Mother Nature from day one.
FROM SUSTAINABLE FARMING TO HAND HARVESTING
Everything, from controlling pests and vine diseases, to training the vines and tending them through their yearly cycle, is carefully designed to harvest the finest grapes while preserving the land. Sustainable farming and manual harvesting are an act of love and necessary to aim for the highest quality.
NATURE ABOVE ALL
Using organic fertilizers, encouraging cover crops and taking care of every single vine defines W18, and you can taste the hard work in every glass of wine. Moravia’s verdant landscape is stunning, and we intend to keep it that way.
Why W18? The ‘W’ stands for wine, and 18 is both the number of months our age-worthy wine spends in oak barrels and the year we planted our first vineyards, 2018. That’s how W18 was born!
Our goal is to show that Central Europe is the source of wine of the highest level; that Moravia is a premium wine region with no equal. At W18, excellence is the standard.
